Ah i wrote a blog post & it deleted, this time i have less time so here goes:
I made some high-energy treats for a Made In Chelsea star and my husband (her bodyguard). They had a p.a a long old drive away at silly o'clock in the morning.
These are my FAVOURITE.
Take some dates, (medjools are the nicest), spread in tahini (or nut butter of your choice but tahini is higher in calcium but lesser in fat) and sprinkle in choc nibs.Thats it!
I use carob chips for the twins, choc drops will do also but u really want choc nibs for the health benefits.
The difference between raw chocolate nibs (cacao) and regular cocoa.HUGE!
I eat lots of raw chocolate by the way!
All of the ingredients are available at Holland & Barrett but i like raw tahini which i got from rawliving.eu (raw has the living nutrients and my kids have it daily in some form), medjool dates i buy in bulk from greengrocer (california natural delights are the SHIIIIT but supermarkets also stock them) and raw choc nibs i got from H&B.
The tv star didnt eat them (hey im honest!), she dosent like dates but then neither does my husband and he enjoyed them all.I REALLY recommend you just try them!:
And here are tahini benefits!
10 Reasons to Eat Tahini
Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds. It's extremely versatile and can be used in cooking sweet and savory dishes. Even better, it’s packed with essential vitamins and minerals!
There are two main types of tahini: hulled and unhulled. Unhulled tahini is best as it's made from the whole sesame seed, leaving its nutritional value intact. Hulled tahini is stripped of many of its nutrients.
10 health benefits of tahini:
- It’s rich in minerals such as phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium and iron.
- It's a good source of Methionine, which aids in liver detoxification.
- It’s one of the best sources of calcium out there.
- It’s high in vitamin E and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B15.
- Helps to promote healthy cell growth.
- Prevent anemia.
- Helps to maintain healthy skin and muscle tone.
- It has 20% complete protein, making it a higher protein source than most nuts.
- It's easy for your body to digest because of its high alkaline mineral content, which is great for assisting in weight loss.
- It is high in unsaturated fat (good fat!)
