My twins are 13 months. The worst part is double teething.Every parent knows what a bad night (and day) is like with a teething child. If you dont then haha one day you may find out.So times that by two.Thats two sets of milk teeth you've to get through. And you can't hold two upset mini toddlers at the same time, you sure as hell can't get anything done with two upset ones needing to be close to you.I made this tea tonight. You can keep it simple or go a bit fancy as I've done.My kids are tired but they wake each other up through the night or naps even though we separate them. Its also flu season. They are not sick but Im a believer in prevention. So I want to help them have a peaceful night tonight.Earlier we had a pretty bad scene. There was poo on my jacket, poo in his hair, he was crying, I was crying, she was crying.I discovered today I can no longer carry both babies. And I was at a baby group with no pram.I thought I'd take them to the park next door after but I got half way.I had to put them down.Had they put on a few pounds since yesterday? JESUS! There was no one around to help me and i couldn't exactly leave one there and come back for them. Then the teething poo squirts came.NOW I was in trouble. When my husband turned up he was in a rented old banger whilst his car was getting fixed. That meant no car seats so I had to do the bad parent shocker of sitting them in my lap...with exploded shit pants.
Seven minutes later with two upset squirming one year olds we were wearing last nights dinner.
So I felt sorry for them and after their bath thought they'd enjoy a warm tonic.
Here it is:
In a tea strainer I added:
1 tea bag of Pukka "Night Time Tea"
1 tsp Lemon Balm (Calming effects for restlessness)
1 tsp Paul D'Arco (Look this up,super potent at killing nasties.Brill immune defence)
Don't add boiling water. You don't want to cook the nutrients to death.Add cooled down warm water.
Then I got fancy..
I added the strained tea to a blender with:
1 TB coconut oil (great for kids.immune and makes it velvety to drink)
2 TB Lacuma (A sweetener powder made from Peruvian root vegetables.Contains protein & iron too)
Vanilla Extract
A good squirt of Agave Nectar
A little 1/2 tsp Raw Honey (Not vegan but super healing)
1/8 tsp Camu Camu (A fruit powder.Highest vitamin C in the world apparently.Bigtime flu buster)
Blend and it comes out like a sweet velvety horlicks as my husband describes it.
Lemon balm and Paul D'Arco I had to hand from indigo-herbs.co.uk and the rest is available from Holland & Barrett. The raw honey & camu camu is available from red23health.co.uk .
You don't need everything here to make this amazing, throw in whatever you have available.
I can't take full credit for this idea.Im a fan of Dara Dubinets tonics on YouTube so this is based loosely on that.Tell me what you think, what you tried and what you can share with me also....we are all in this together! Lol
Lots of love,
